Bruiaunna Embrey-Banks (She/Her): Briaunna is a second year Masters student in the University of Maryland’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Leadership program. She is the founder and CEO of the organization Owning My Blackness (OMB) and business Owning My Blackness Consulting (OMBC), which she established while a resident assistant, student athlete, and campus leader at York College of Pennsylvania. OMB works to elevate black students and their perspectives through education, advocacy training, and community engagement. OMBC works with educators to assist with the dismantling of systematic racism in education. In addition, She was the 2023 MACUHO Annual Conference Best Presentation By A New Professional Award Winner and the 2021 recipient of MACUHO Commitment to Social Justice Award.
