Speaker: Laura Gallagher
Laura is a senior counsel attorney and part of Saxton & Stump’s Labor and Employment, Business and Corporate, and Construction groups in the firm’s Lancaster office. She has worked as a labor and employment attorney in the Lancaster area and nationally for more than 25 years, counseling business leaders and human resources professionals. Laura defends litigation in federal
and state courts and administrative charges with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state agencies in 30 states. She also served as outside employment law counsel for a global confectionery, pet food, and food manufacturer, one of the primary attorneys the company’s managers contacted for legal guidance for over 25 years. Laura is also part of the team at TREW HR, a human resources consulting company and Saxton & Stump affiliate.
At Saxton & Stump, Laura works with companies on issues such as:

Laura also provides daily advice for clients on important questions around hiring, performance, investigations, termination and medical concerns. She handles all aspects of litigation and conducts training sessions for clients and organizations.
She is a former president and a current member of the Occupational Development Center Board of Directors in Lancaster. She also serves in current and former leadership positions at the Lancaster Society for Human Resource Management, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Lancaster Bar Association.
Laura earned her law degree at Widener University School of Law. While there, she worked as a research assistant for state and federal law issues, assisted students, and researched items for a law review article on the history of Pennsylvania courts. She also studied abroad at the Summer International Law Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, and spent an academic year as a legal intern at the Lancaster County Office of the District Attorney.
Before law school, Laura worked in marketing positions after graduating from Bucknell University. She worked in the Philadelphia area, Hershey, and as the marketing director at Central Penn Nursing Care in Lancaster. While at Bucknell, she studied abroad at the Syracuse University London Centre.
