James Carchidi is CEO a.k.a. Chief Enthusiasm Officer of the JFC Staffing Companies, a recipient of the Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award, a past finalist for two Entrepreneur of the Year awards and recipient of the Edward M. Messner Inspiring Business Award. An avid student in the fields of neuroscience, leadership, organizational development and psychology; James wants to inspire the world to generate greater mental effectiveness, so that people can realize more of their potential on both the professional and personal level.

Samm Smeltzer, M.Ed., MQP, SHRM-CP, PHR, has been playfully referred to as the “Unicorn”, this comes from her eternal optimism for the possibilities of what the workplace could be. Samm’s approach of artfully listening to the unsaid to create organizational development strategies has been known to manifest change that is observable and becomes an energetic force within organizations. She is the founder of Leadership Arts Associates, a boutique consulting firm devoted to revolutionizing HR. Samm is the creator of the HRart Center, a spaced devoted to restoring passionate professionals through Qigong, Yin Yoga & Intuitive Services. 1000am – 1100am Exemptions from OT – Becky Becker, SPHR, SCP
You might know her as Becky Stauffer amid the pandemic Becky got married! Becky Becker is a national as speaker for Human Resources and Payroll Law topics. She has a heart for nonprofits with over 15 years’ experience serving in non-profits in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In addition, she has been adjunct faculty at Penn-State teaching Human Resource courses and has served as a board member to 2 area non-profits. In 2017, Becky started her own consulting company Work4Accord, LLC to focus on innovate workplace solutions that reduce conflict, mitigate risk and increase employee engagement.
Becky holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma, SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and a SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional) Designation.She is the 2010 York SHRM HR Professional of the year and a past York SHRM President. She now lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
1130am – 1200pm Betsy Stein Hoffmaster & Marganne Hoffman
Betsy Stein-Hoffmaster, MSW serves as an EAP Coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Pittsburgh, a master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University and a post-baccalaureate certification in Elementary Education from Millersville University. Betsy’s experience includes working at WellSpan Behavioral Health for thirteen years providing EAP and outpatient counseling services, as well as serving as a clinical supervisor for numerous offices. In addition, she spent three years as a social worker with WellSpan Dialysis. Between 2016 and 2019, she has been part of WellSpan’s Organizational Learning and Development team assisting with New Employee Orientation and facilitating Excel virtual trainings. From 2015-2019, Betsy was employed as the YWCA York’s “Girls on the Run” Program Coordinator.
Marganne Hoffman serves as an EAP Coordinator. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University. Employed in behavioral healthcare since 2000, she has worked in various positions including Project Coordinator for Shaping Your Family’s Future, a book developed by Philhaven to encourage parents to create healthy family patterns as they raise their children. Since 2007, she has managed over fifty EAP client companies and provides guidance and resources to employers and their employees. Marganne also develops and facilitates educational programs as well as responds to workplace traumatic events.
